The Sad State of Education

In reply to a ridiculous video of college students on Jones Beach in New York unable to answer some very simple questions about American history, I replied, “I know a lot of folks want to blame this on teachers. Now there are some very poor teachers who should not be in the profession, agreed, but as a career teacher I am continually appalled by young peoples’ general apathy for achievement and knowledge and the overwhelming lack of support from their supposedly concerned parental units…couple that with a blasphemous, greed-driven culture of unfocused malcontents and you get a generation (or two) of moronic ninnies who eschew critical thinking and disdain the pursuit of academic excellence. Witness the death of American civilization.”
