Jethro Tull at the Greek

By the way, Ian Anderson and gang were altogether engaging the other night at the Greek…

Always tinged with bawdy, biting, tongue-in-cheek humor, his theatrical music presentation came across as so sophisticated as to be too much for the progressive rock category, placing him into a more virtuoso category of his own, populated maybe by the likes of Rush, Dream Theatre, Peter Gabriel, and so on…’tis no wonder bands very rarely cover Tull tunes (they’re too darn difficult!)…

Joining him on stage was Ryan O’Donnell, another young vocalist whose voice at times reminded me of a younger Ian, miming and prancing about amidst numerous wardrobe changes…made for an interesting vocal offering as the two traded back and forth throughout the evening…

Dare I have to mention how amazingly tight his band of players were (given the radical complexity of the music)?

Saw my sister Linda and her husband Jim as well as my friends Rob Mawer and Chuck Berez there too…this was Tull show #37 for me…join us next time…
