As if one needed a brilliant example of American free speech, I offer condolences to the family of the now-deceased Art Bell.
For decades he headed up a syndicated radio program called “Coast to Coast,” and had the most intriguing “out there” guests on Earth. His even-handed tone and presentation made even the most preposterous idea seem worth considering, and it made for very intriguing and controversial radio. I have listened to his shows dozens of times.
On Friday the 13th, oddly enough, Art Bell left us for the great beyond. He was 72. Rest in peace, Mr. Bell.
