Pearl Harbor Switcheroo

On the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, I read an interesting statement:

At the onset of World War II, our allies were Russia and China and our enemies were Germany and Japan. Today our allies are Germany and Japan, and you guessed it, our enemies are Russia and China.

We are such a stiff-necked race of beings — we learn so little from history.
