The Anthropic Principle

Consider, if you will, what is called the Anthropic Principle.

It’s the notion that our physical world has been precisely tuned to accommodate Man on Earth.

There are dozens of physical parameters within and surrounding our little blue-green pearl such that if they were tweaked (some as little as 0.001 %), life here would become untenable.

Small changes in everything from the esoteric fine structure constant and the radioactive decay rate of Beryllium-8 to the more familiar tilt of the Earth’s orbit and its distance from the sun would result in catastrophe…they are such amazingly fine-tuned quantities to suggest…well…I’ll let you come to your own conclusions…
